The Century Club meeting was held on
Saturday, June 16, 2001, at the Bingley Building, Marion County Fairgrounds. It
has been determined that management will continue to be involved in the Century
Club meetings.
Points were reviewed and members were assigned to help
those with low points. Kermit Bowers will help Gary Moughler; Ron Shifflett
will help Ken Nelson; and Mike Knaak will help Dick Seymour. They will report
back as to their progress at the next Century Club meeting. |

Beginning July 15, 2001,
the speed of the trucks will be determined as follows: At the time of a full
service, if the fuel mileage is less than 6.4 m.p.g. on the Road Relay, the
truck speed will be set at 65 m.p.h. If the fuel mileage is 6.4 m.p.g. or
higher, the truck speed will be set at 70 m.p.h. Any truck with a fuel mileage
of less than 6.0 m.p.g. on the June report will be turned down to 65 m.p.h.
until the unit is due for its next full service and the fuel mileage is above
6.4 m.p.g. All readings will be off the Road Relay. If the Road Relay is
broken, then it will be replaced. John and the shop will be trying to get these
things fixed right away.
Pete Fortner, Regional Transportation Manager
with Ford, will be the guest speaker at the August Century Club meeting. Please
forward any questions you would like to ask to either Steve Taggart or Steve
Letien.
There is now a red Brooks drop box for all your paperwork at
the Kansas City lot. Paperwork will be picked up from this location twice
daily, 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. This should help in getting paperwork in the office
within five days of delivery. You can also still use TripPak.
There was
some discussion regarding changing the current payroll system to be based on
either a 12 week average, 4 week average, or weekly. We will have more
discussion on this subject. In the future we will not block any weeks out for
miles.
The Family Picnic/Truck Rodeo will be held next month on
Saturday, July 14, 2001. This is the last weekend of Ford shutdown. If you are
planning to attend or would like to participate in the competition, please let
Tracy in Safety know how many people you will be bringing as soon as possible .
We discussed the plans that Ford has for shutdown. They are expecting
to be down for two weeks only and then come right back up to full production
without delay. Ford has a goal to have 700 loads be live unload and live load
by the end of the year. This will affect the Montezuma/Victor loads. Note that
Ford has a sign posted at the guard shack saying no trucks are allowed in from
4 a.m. to 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This is to eliminate drivers from
arriving too early for the appointment times. It is Steve Taggarts
understanding that if your appointment time is between those hours you will be
allowed in the lot. Steve will verify this with Ford and let us know.
We hope to see everyone at the Mike Brooks, Inc. Truck Rodeo and Family
Fun Day Saturday, July 14! The next Century Club meeting will be held on
Saturday, August 18, 2001, at the Bingley Building, Marion County Fairgrounds.
Dont forget you can call in if you cant attend! There is no
limit as to the number of people that can call and we have a new phone so
callers can hear better. To participate, call 1-800-928-6113. At the prompt,
enter the password of 866326.
Special thanks go to the Operations and
Accounting Departments who have done the cooking for the last two meetings.
These folks have done a great job and we appreciate it!
