HERE ARE THE ANSWERS TO SOME COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS . . .

How did Mike Brooks, Inc. get
started? Mike started off with an end dump hauling coal. He knew other
coal truck drivers, developed a business by coordinating freight, and received
an opportunity to get authority sponsorship from a shipper. He then bought a
van trailer; one thing led to another, and here we are today! Mike has always
had a preference for being on the road and, whenever he can pull it off, he
goes out and drives a truck.
Wouldnt I be better off with a
bigger company? We dont think so! The size of our Company
provides you with many opportunities. Our employees are encouraged to
continually grow with the Company and our size offers each individual the
opportunity to experience different areas. We know our employees and work with
them. You wont get lost in the shuffle. We have all the same stuff that
the bigger companies have (AS400 computer system, Innovative Computing
Corp.s software, Qualcomm), we just like to think we take care of our
people better!
What does Knoxville, Iowa, have to offer?
Iowas reputation for workforce excellence, a strong educational
system and genuine hospitality make Knoxville a great place to work, live and
shop. Major corporations such as 3M and Hormel are located in our city, along
with many small and unique businesses. The Knoxville Recreation Center offers
racquetball, volleyball, basketball, an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool.
Just minutes away, Lake Red Rock offers a variety of outdoor recreation
opportunities including boating, swimming and camping. Trails for hiking,
jogging, biking, rollerblading and horseback riding surround the area. Hunting

small town living while the conveniences and attractions of Des Moines are only
minutes away. And lets not forget the Knoxville Raceway. Known as the
Sprint Car Capitol of the World, Knoxville has the reputation of
being the premier track for sprint car racing. Each August, the Nationals bring
65,000 race fans from around the world to our city for four days of racing
excitement.
Do employees get involved in Company decisions and, if
so, how? One of the biggest reasons for our success is due to having
employee involvement at Mike Brooks, Inc. We encourage all employees to
participate on our teams. Our employees designed our Paid Time Off policy and
Dress Code. Our drivers helped design their pay program. Do employees have the
ability to be involved in the development of our Company?? The opportunity is
there for those who wish to become involved!
